U.S. Army W.T.F! Moments changes name to "Sadly, No Longer Surprising Army Moments"
"Yeah, that tracks," acknowledges Army spokesman

Members of the Army community comfort one another
UNDISCLOSED IP ADDRESS, The Internet — The military’s social media community is in an uproar today after the viral page known throughout the military as “U.S Army W.T.F. Moments” officially changed its name to “Sadly, No Longer Surprising Army Moments”. The name change came unannounced following another post related to the constant leadership failures at Fort Hood and across the Army.
Duffel Blog spoke with a representative from S.N.L.S.A.M. shortly after the change. “The name change has been something in discussion for quite some time now, and duty stations like Fort Hood made the decision pretty easy,” said “A.”, lead admin for the page. “We had it narrowed down to that, ‘Are you really surprised anymore?’, ‘It Figures’, or ‘Yeah, No Shit’ which honestly would have been more accurate,” A. said.
“We’ve realized that our readers aren’t even shocked anymore,” A. explained. Whether it’s a CSM sleeping with their PFC driver, Private Snuffy bringing a stripper to the unit holiday party, or another missing and dead Soldier leadership low-key blames for their own rape and murder, we will continue bringing these issues into the spotlight. We just know that it’s becoming more sad than shocking”.
Subscribers also shared their opinion on the unanticipated name change. “I sure hope this doesn’t mean that we’ll see fewer DA photos of NCOs holding each other like ‘Step Brothers’ and MPs wrecking police cars because that’s all I’m here for,” posted John Freeland. A post from Geoffrey Gomez read, “I thought that name was already taken as the title for the findings of the Fort Hood investigation.” In fact, it seems that readers are more shocked by the change of the page’s name than they have been by the content.
Sergeant Major of Army Michael A. Grinston reacted more somberly to the change. “No matter what the average social media fan thinks when they see the shit that gets posted there, I promise you that I am perpetually shocked by the seemingly never-ending cesspool of ignorance across all echelons of the Army,” said Grinston. “I remember when Sergeant Majors used to look outside to see who was walking on the grass … now they all wake up and check Facebook and Instagram to ensure their Soldiers didn’t make ‘WTF Moments’ highlight reels,” he said. “Regardless of the name, they have changed the culture in the Army, and have made more of an impact than most of the boot-shining and uniform-starching of previous generations ever did,” said Grinston before asking if his comments were off the record or not.
In a failed attempt at gaining recognition following the name change, the Coast Guard attempted to claim the “WTF Moments” title as their own but were denied by Facebook and Instagram due to not being a “real branch” of the military.
