WASHINGTON D.C. – Having taken his ball and gone home by finally ending his hold on US military promotions, Senator Tommy Tuberville appears to be seeking to pick up the pieces and deal with what it all cost him personally. As part of that recovery, Washington insiders revealed that Tuberville has quietly begun applying for VA benefits.

Tuberville, a Republican Senator from Alabama, gained national notoriety by objecting to the Senate confirmation of any senior military leaders for over eight months in protest of a DoD policy on abortion.

Per documents obtained via a FOIA request, Tuberville has since applied for a VA Home Loan, GI Bill benefits that cover college tuition, and filed several medical claims through VA healthcare.
