Milley accidentally types ‘hot goth girls’ into Teams chat with Joint Chiefs

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley issued an apology today after he accidentally typed the words “hot goth girls” into a Microsoft Teams chat with the other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“We’ve all been here,” Milley said. “With modern technology evolving at the speed of combat, this teachable moment highlights the importance of senior leaders remaining cognizant into which platform they’re typing ‘hot goth girls’ at any given moment.”

“Uh, I haven’t been there,” Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston muttered from the back of the Chairman’s press room.

Leaked Pentagon transcripts of the JCS’s messages revealed what began as a normal conversation among the nation’s top defense officials, with Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michael Gilday lauding this year’s National Defense Authorization Act. “Y’all see the new NDAA that just dropped?”, Gilday said. “Sh!t is FIRE, YO!”

The Chief of Staff of the Army quickly chimed in, noting that the NDAA’s funding too heavily favored operations afloat, while ignoring much-needed modernization for the nation’s land forces.

“Take your 355-ship Navy and shove it up your @$$, Gilday,” Gen. James McConville said. The others waited in anticipation for the Chairman to settle the debate, as an ellipsis indicated Gen. Milley was typing. But Milley’s guidance quickly steered the chat in a different direction when the words “hot goth girls” appeared on the screen.
